Saxofoondocent Julia Warren. Oorspronkelijk afkomstig uit Montréal, Canada, geeft ze al jaren saxofoonles in Maastricht. Ze heeft ervaring met het lesgeven aan allerlei soorten muziekliefhebbers – zoals absolute beginners, leden van de fanfare en jazzadepten.

Julia gebruikt een bijzondere mix van techniek, improvisatie (als je durft!) en haar hoge emotionele intelligentie om het beste geluid uit je te halen.

Haar lessen worden omschreven als een mix van muziektherapie, technische ontwikkeling en… plezier! De saxofoon is een uitdagend instrument, maar Julia kent het instrument van binnen en van buiten en helpt haar studenten deze kennis ook te verkrijgen.

Ze is zelf muzikant en actief componist, producer en docent in de Benelux en daarbuiten. Ze heeft een master in muziek (met een hybride focus op uitvoering en educatie). Ze spreekt vloeiend Frans en Engels en spreekt Nederlands met een “zachte G”!

De lessen vinden plaats in een privé-repetitieruimte in Bankastudios in Maastricht.

Our teacher is Julia Warren. Originally from Montréal, Canada, she has been in Maastricht for many years giving saxophone lessons. She has experience teaching all kinds of music lovers – from total beginners, fanfare lifetimers, to jazz aficionados.

Julia uses a special mix of technique, improvisation (if you dare!) and her high emotional intelligence to get the best sound out of you.

Her lessons have been described as a mix of music therapy, technical development, and… fun! The saxophone is a challenging instrument, but she knows it inside and out and helps you to get to know it better too.

As a musician herself, she is an active composer, producer, and educator in the BeNeLux region and beyond. She has a Master’s in music (with a hybrid focus on performance and education). She is fluent in French and English, and she speaks Dutch with a “soft G”!
